Job Position: Tax Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities
Tax Compliance:

  1. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.
  2. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and adapt the organization’s processes and strategies accordingly.
  3. Review and oversee the preparation of tax provisions and financial statements to comply with accounting standards.

Tax Planning:

  1. Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize the organization’s tax liability.
  2. Provide guidance on structuring transactions, investments, and other financial decisions to optimize tax outcomes.
  3. Identify and pursue tax incentives, credits, and deductions available to the organization.

Risk Management:

  1. Assess and manage tax-related risks by conducting regular audits and reviews of financial data and transactions.
  2. Ensure compliance with transfer pricing rules and international tax regulations if applicable.

Team Leadership:

  1. Supervise and lead a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and training as necessary.
  2. Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance to ensure efficient tax operations.

Communication and Reporting:

  1. Communicate tax strategies and findings to senior management, providing recommendations for decision-making.
  2. Prepare and submit regular reports on the organization’s tax status and liabilities.


  1. Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, finance, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  2. Work with external auditors, tax authorities, and consultants as needed.

Job Requirements

  1. Proven experience in tax management, accounting, or a related role, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  2. In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficiency in tax software and financial management systems.
  6. Leadership and team management experience.
