Job Position: Head, Thermal Power Plant

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

1. To monitor and control operations of the thermal plants to meet power requirements of cement plant seamlessly.
2. Plan and carryout major overhauls of the boilers/turbines as per recommended schedule to ensure the reliability/availability of the plant with operating agencies systematically.
3. Forecast Power requirements and facilitate operational requirements across the Company from time to time.
4. Train the workforce to the job execution with on-site job orientation with appropriate agencies for sustained operations
5. Coordinate with OEMs for maintenanace activities of major equipment.
6. Mitigate operational risks at all areas and ensure high degree of safety in boiler operation.
7. Optimise the power generation cost with appropriate controls and measures with optimum SHR and load factors.
8. Plan and maintain all consumables required for operation through respective units and keep operational costs under budget.
9. Apply technological developments in power generation and improve power plant operations.
10. Optimise costs of generation by effective utilization of all resources including AFR.
11. Apply innovation and best practices in thermal power plants.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 30 Years experience in Gas Turbine based power plants Instrumentation maintenance.
3. In-depth knowledge of Coal -based Thermal power plant operation and maintenance, preferably in combined cycle plants with gas turbines.
4. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
5. Experience in managing budgets.
6. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
7. Proactive and able to work under pressure.
