Job Position: Tunnel Engineer

Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • To undertake appropriate due diligence of the tunnel aspects of the proposed highway design manual

Job Responsibilities

  1. Define minimum geotechnical and other investigations for prescription in the manual
  2. Proposing amendments to the proposed design options to reflect improved sustainability, safety and other aspects; draft the volume covering tunnel construction of the proposed highway design manual.
  3. Review as part of the due diligence provisions in existing tunnel design manuals, provisions for lighting, ventilation, fire, communications, drainage and emergency response systems, and propose amendments as appropriate
  4. propose standard specifications for the tunnel aspects of the manual.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  2. General experience in the design and construction of tunnels for highways and other transport infrastructure.
  3. Must have been involved in the design and construction of tunnels for two (2) highways and other transport infrastructure in the last ten (10) years.
