Job Responsibilities

  1. Build and lead a globally distributed team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  2. Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  3. Provide technical thought leadership for your team and others around Canonical
  4. Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices
  5. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company’s value.

Job Requirements
What we are looking for:

  • Exceptional software engineering skills – design, document, plan, execute

Demonstrated understanding in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Significant programming experience in C, with Python, Golang, or other like languages also highly regarded
  2. Substantial experience with Linux kernel internals and concepts
  3. Solid understanding of Linux kernel development principles
  4. Deep understanding of Mandatory Access Control Systems, such as Apparmor, SELinux or security modules.
  5. Contributed to an open-source project in the past
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing or leading software engineering teams
  7. Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
