Job Position: UI / UX Designer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  2. Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, and user feedback.
  3. Develop UI mockups and prototypes for new product ideas.
  4. Translate requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns and attractive user interfaces
  5. Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images.
  6. Plan and implement new designs; optimize existing user interface designs
  7. Incorporate customer feedback, and usability findings into design in order to enhance user experience
  8. Test for intuitivity and experience.
  9. Communicate with clients to understand their business goals and objectives
  10. Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements.
  11. Conduct an ongoing user research.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new design tools and technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design.
  13. Advocate for the user and champion user-centered design principles across the organization.
  14. Collaborate with development teams to ensure design feasibility and provide design assets and documentation.
  15. Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions, and iterate based on user feedback.
  16. Design and maintain a consistent visual language across all digital touchpoint, including websites, mobile apps, and marketing collateral.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
  2. Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role for at least 2 years
  3. Portfolio of design projects
  4. Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Figma and Adobe Illustrator
  5. Knowledge of Usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction
  6. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
  7. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, and experience with user research and usability testing.
  8. Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  9. Good time-management skills
  10. Ability to discuss and explain design options
  11. Detail oriented
  12. Critical thinker; problem solver and customer-centered
  13. Good knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3
  14. Thrives in a fast paced, start-up environment with dynamic business priorities.
