Job Description
- We are looking to hire an Underwriter to join our team.
- The successful hire is expected to take responsibility for making credit decisions and ensuring that key risk issues that could lead to default in the repayment of the loans are adequately analyzed and sufficiently mitigated.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that the loan officer collects the necessary information, completes of all the necessary documents; missing information/document will be communicated immediately;
- Ensure that conditions such as the customer’s ability, solvency, willingness to pay and level of indebtedness are met;
- Undertakes the analysis, evaluation, and underwriting of all loan applications assessed by the loan officer
- Take a decision in compliance with the credit granting conditions described in the procedure, ensuring that credit-related risks are properly assessed and mitigations are adequate;
- Identify the risks and threats and make recommendations for the disbursement and the follow-up of the loan
- Ensure that each request is approved according to the appropriate conditions and credit line.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit underwriting within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on SME clients.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and assess credit risk.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
