Job Position: Video Journalist

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. As a Video Journalist in the Igbo Service team you will be expected to produce, record and edit video content with speed, professional video journalistic skills and utmost creativity.
  2. You will offer story ideas and will routinely self-shoot and edit news packages for use across multiple platforms.
  3. Applicants should be aware that this role will require you to travel at short notice.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have first-class video journalism skills, with the ability to gather and prepare audio, still footage and video material for broadcast. You will also command the following attributes:

  1. Storytelling ability through the use of audio, photography and video.
  2. Ability to spot potential newsworthy stories for use on any BBC service.
  3. Recognizing the distinct requirements of different types of output platforms the BBC uses.
  4. Ability to self-shoot and edit video routinely which is the main focus of the role
  5. Good command of spoken, read and written Igbo language and English.
