Job Position: Video Producer / Host

Job Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

  1. Generating ideas, sourcing and researching stories for our video platforms according to our content strategy.
  2. Monitoring trending stories on social media.
  3. Shooting videos in the field/studio environment alongside a camera operator.
  4. Conducting interviews and writing scripts for your videos.
  5. Writing and recording voice overs for your videos.
  6. Working alongside a video editor during the editing process.
  7. Overseeing all stages of production and post-production of your videos as a complete package.
  8. Ensuring your videos adhere to the highest journalistic standards, Legit.ng editorial policies and applicable Nigerian laws.
  9. Generating ideas for new topics/formats/shows for our platforms.

Job Requirements

  1. High School Diploma; Degree in Journalism, Media, Film or relevant field is a plus.
  2. Proven experience as a video journalist/producer/host (TV, film, online video) in the areas of current affairs, human interest stories, documentary. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
  3. Excellent spoken and written English.
  4. Perfect writing skills; narration and good grammar.
  5. Great editorial judgment and news monitoring skills.
  6. Impeccable communication and interviewing skills: both written and verbal.
  7. Must be a self-driven individual with a strong desire to constantly learn, adapt and work under minimal supervision.
  8. Must be a strategic and analytical thinker.
  9. Must be able to use social media effectively.
