Job Position: Argon Welder

Job Location: Ikorodu, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces
  2. Fabricate stainless/mild steel members and platforms.
  3. Fabricate and install piping works and maintenance.
  4. Repairing of AMEX extruder screw tightening bolt welding.
  5. Welding thin ss sheets of machine covers and other parts.
  6. Required in critical parts of welding whenever we are going for any improvement or modification activities.
  7. Installation of new machines etc. also includes the provision of required utilities like air, Nitrogen, and oil. e.t.c.
  8. Determine the appropriate welding equipment, and machinery to be used or method based on requirements.
  9. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  10. Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
  11. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  12. Set up components for welding according to specifications and cut material with powered saws to match measurements.
  13. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
  14. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  15. Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Educational Standard: Trade Test I, II & III and at least 4 years’ experience as an Argon Welder for SSCE qualification.

Other Requirements:

  1. Must live in Ikorodu, and Environ as proximity to work is key.
  2. Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
  3. A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
  4. Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
  5. Good knowledge of and adherence to safety standards.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  8. Team player.
  9. Gas cutting skills is key
  10. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
