Our treatment approach is multidisciplinary and delivered in a safe and comfortable environment with experienced staff that provides specialist services and combines a range of therapeutic interventions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Position: <\/strong>Senior Medical Officer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Abuja (FCT)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nWard Duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be present and contactable within clinic premises at all times during work hours except when on other official duties.<\/li>\n<li>To carry out a detailed assessment history and physical examination on all patients before admission according to the Olive Prime Policy<\/li>\n<li>To maintain individual contact with patients, carrying out ward rounds and other duties detailed by the Consultant<\/li>\n<li>To update clinical notes on all patients according to best practice for record keeping<\/li>\n<li>To ensure that within a week of the admission, patient\u2019s diagnosis in line with ICD is documented on EMR and explained to the patient and Family.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that leaflets explaining diagnosis, medication and its effects are given to patient, explained and documented. Encourage consultants to explain diagnosis to patient and document it.<\/li>\n<li>To respond promptly to the request of all clinical staff (consultants, other doctors and nurses) to see patients within the clinic and to advice or start any treatment as indicated.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake specific medical procedures on patients within the clinic as requested by medical and nursing staff: cannulation, commencing I.V infusions, administration of I.V drugs, etc.<\/li>\n<li>To type and file discharge summaries on all patients discharged from Olive Prime- within 72 hours of discharge<\/li>\n<li>Must ensure every patient discharged from Olive Prime is scheduled to see a doctor within 7 days\u2019 post discharge<\/li>\n<li>Run regular follow up clinics and encourage patient attendance<\/li>\n<li>Carry out home visits to review patients<\/li>\n<li>Lead a clinical team to pick up patients from the community for admission when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Partake in On call duties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Run a smoking cessation clinic<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to and be a part of Olive Prime Business Team<\/li>\n<li>Be part of the team that makes contact with Organizations to seek clients for Olive Prime<\/li>\n<li>Carry out presentations at clinical meetings in various hospitals to inform them of our clinical services<\/li>\n<li>To examine a sick\/injured member of clinic staff and offer appropriate advice in respect of treatment<\/li>\n<li>Liaise regularly with Service Manager to discuss service improvement<\/li>\n<li>Carry out regular teaching sessions directed at Nurses, Support Workers and Psychologists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Administrative Duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a part of interview panels during staff recruitment<\/li>\n<li>Be a member of Olive Prime middle management committee and attend line Management meetings<\/li>\n<li>Be a co-chair for Olive Prime Educational meetings<\/li>\n<li>Will be asked to be part of other Adhoc committees if and when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Take a lead role in developing and writing proposals for Olive Prime Services<\/li>\n<li>Be a facilitator on some of Olive Prime Training programs<\/li>\n<li>Read understand and adhere to clinic policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Will be a clinical and managerial lead<\/li>\n<li>Will be a part of the Business Development team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Health and Safety and Quality Assurance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be familiar with, understand and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations including evacuation policy and the medical officer\u2019s role in such an event<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of the promotion of effective customer care and public relations in order to promote the good reputation of the clinic<\/li>\n<li>Performing any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager is essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery<\/li>\n<li>Post-Graduation qualifications including Masters programs are desirable<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 6 years\u2019 experience in Clinical care and patient management<\/li>\n<li>Experience in non-clinical settings that demonstrates exposure to other industries is desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant experience in mental health is desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Development:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will be sponsored to internal training programs and if exceptional will be exposed to international training programs<\/li>\n<li>Will be expected to engage in self-directed
