Founded in 2012, we recognize that there are severe shortcomings in the educational sector in Africa and in this area, we are committed to transforming the lives of Africa\u2019s most precious resource \u2013 her children.<\/p>\n<p>We provide educational scholarships, create safe learning spaces, use 21st century pedagogy and technology to improve learning outcomes and provide several other health and psychosocial supports for underserved children in slums and hard to reach communities.<\/p>\n<p>This is achieved by collaborating with the government, private sector, individuals, civil society organizations and other developmental agencies towards building a resourceful and sustainable network. Most importantly building a network of socially responsible community of volunteers committed to social reformation. We envision a world where every child has access to quality education, good health, and a happy family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Position: <\/strong>Human Resource and Volunteer Coordinator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Coordinator will ensure that Slum2School\u2019s volunteers can support its strategic direction and growth, with high productivity and optimism about setting and meeting future goals while receiving high value through volunteer talent development and opportunity maximization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Human Resource and Volunteer Coordinator will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provide cross-departmental direction for overall volunteer engagement, management, and talent development;<\/li>\n<li>Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain an efficient volunteer structure and processes required to meet objectives and manage day-to-day volunteer engagement including engagement tracking, volunteer evaluation\/feedback, and communication.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the strategic planning process and oversee the engagement of volunteers in relevant programs and organizational operations.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee Slum2School\u2019s internship and volunteer exchange program.<\/li>\n<li>Create a cordial environment of teamwork, appreciation, and recognition.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee planning and organization of Management Support Team (MST) meetings including agenda preparation and reporting, general volunteer meetings, physical and virtual hangouts.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Volunteer Department to manage human resources including establishing and determining volunteer policies, benefits, recruitment, evaluation, recognitions<\/li>\n<li>Identify relevant opportunities for volunteer talent development.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Media &amp; Communications department to ensure timely dissemination of information including frequent organizational update communication to volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the recruitment and selection process.<\/li>\n<li>Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.<\/li>\n<li>Nurture a positive working environment.<\/li>\n<li>Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Reporting Relationships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Human Resource and Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Head of Operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nThe successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree or Master&#8217;s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related areas.<\/li>\n<li>3 &#8211; 5 years of experience in a related role.<\/li>\n<li>Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (HRCI, SHRM-CP, PHR, APHR)<\/li>\n<li>Proven record as human resources manager or relevant experience in a for-profit or nonprofit organization.<\/li>\n<li>Proven record of leadership skills at a mid or senior organizational level.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of employee relations procedures and applicable law.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of staffing and employment practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Passion and Enthusiasm for Slum2School\u2019s mission and an unwavering commitment to making Slum2School a high-performing Pan-African Development organization.<\/li>\n<li>Interest and\/or previous experience in the NGO or development sector.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional strategic planning abilities, attention to detail, and delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter who takes initiative, uses sound, independent judgment, and discretion, and seeks guidance and feedback where appropriate \u2013 a doer as well as a manager.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
