Job Position: Internal Control Associate
Location: Mushin, Lagos

Job Purpose

Ensure compliance with the organisation’s processes, procedures and policies and provide other support for Chicken Republic Stores

Job Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

  1. Ensures that internal control documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  2. Ensure compliance with the organisation’s processes, procedures and policies
  3. Verify and maintain internal control checks and records, including asset tags, to ensure the safeguard of the company
  4. Track cash advance for unnecessary delay in retirement
  5. Create and maintain an error log closed register to ensure that all identified documentation errors are corrected and closed
  6. Review Imprest and relate with stores for any irregularities when necessary
  7. Conduct a periodic physical verification of stock assets monthly
  8. Vouch and verify all payment vouchers for completeness and accuracy
  9. Supervise the receipts of goods from suppliers and certify the GRN
  10. Review of administrative operations (Admin and Maintenance)
  11. Ensure that all necessary corrections are effected, and vouchers are properly authenticated
  12. Prepaid expense retirement review
  13. Call over of SCD- Finance and finance posting on SAP
  14. Due diligence and pricing review
  15. Ensure that all internal control registers are updated and closed daily
  16. Any other ad hoc assignment as assigned by the HOD

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Time lag between internal control deficiency and reporting
  2. Number of internal control improvement initiatives
  3. Number of internal control breaches
  4. Identify and respond proactively to business priorities and key controls
  5. Timely rendition of reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to track support provided to the business and the impact of such support
  6. Prompt implementation and corrective action with employees and managers

Job Specifications
Educational Requirements:

  1. A good first degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Professional Requirements:

  1. Membership of the ICAN, CITN, ACCA, CIS or any other related professional qualification is an added advantage

Experience Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role is required.

Knowledge Requirements:

  1. Financial accounting skills
  2. Strong knowledge of audit procedures.
