Job Position: Design Architect
Location: Anthony, Lagos

Objectives

  1. The ideal designer will have a creative flair and an eye for bold and innovative designs.
  2. S/he will play a vital role in the conceptualisation, planning, and execution of design-build projects.
  3. S/he will have the technical understanding of design principles, architectural expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to ensure that spaces are safe, functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet our client’s standards and requirements.

Job Responsibilities
Design Development:

  1. Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, lifestyle, and design preferences, and with the design team to develop and implement innovative design strategies that align with client objectives
  2. Determine space requirements and how to use space intelligently
  3. Integrate wellness, functionality, and user experience into all design proposals
  4. Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models, ensuring design integrity and adherence to building codes and regulations
  5. Prepare detailed architectural drawings and 3D models, using design tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp to depict plans, elevations, sections and detailed project documents

Collaboration & Communication:

  1. Present design concepts to clients and address feedback effectively; Address any issues related to materials or design adjustments, especially during the installation phase
  2. Effectively work with both the internal and external stakeholders – design team, engineers, electricians, contractors and architects to ensure project success
  3. Lead project meetings and site visits to ensure that designs are implemented according to the Client’s design plan.

Risk Management:

  1. Develop and maintain the Project Risk Management Plan and Risk Register.
  2. Facilitate routine risk meetings with the design team to assess ongoing project risks and review and update the project risk register.
  3. Proactively apply lateral thinking and analyse available information to solve complex problems and put it into process for other teams to comply.

Site Support:

  1. Conduct site visits and inspections, coordinating with the Client’s supervisor, contractors, artisans and other stakeholders both in person and remotely, to ensure that work progresses accordingly to the design plan
  2. Assist in resolving any queries that may arise during the project implementation phase.

Research & Development:

  1. Stay updated with the latest design trends, materials, and innovations in the interior design/architecture industry
  2. Explore and incorporate wellness-driven and sustainable design practices.

Leadership:

  1. Provide guidance and support to junior designers and interns, and help them fine-tune their design

Material & Finish selection:

  1. Source for sustainable and luxury-grade materials where appropriate; Stay updated on new trends, materials and sustainable design practices.

Compliance:

  1. Ensure all designs comply with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
  2. 3+ years of experience in interior architecture or design
  3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and similar design tools
  4. Proven experience in luxury interior design or architecture, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects and detailed working drawings.

Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 / Month.
