Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Ajah, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage all accounting transactions
  2. Prepare budget forecasts
  3. Publish financial statements in time
  4. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  5. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  6. Ensure timely bank payments
  7. Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
  8. Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  9. Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
  10. Audit financial transactions and documents
  11. Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  12. Comply with financial policies and regulations
  13. Document records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
  14. Any other assignments from the Lead.

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc holder in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance or relevant degree with at least 4 years experience as an Accountant
  2. Additional certification is a plus or its equivalent in an accredited institution.
  3. A Post-Graduate Degree is an added advantage

Other Requirements:

  1. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  2. Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks-Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  3. Experience with general ledger functions
  4. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  5. The ability to build rapport with team members and leads alike is an added advantage.
  6. Should be readily available to attend meetings regularly.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PropTech, and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  8. Proficiency in English
  9. Deep real estate sector knowledge is crucial.
  10. Communication and negotiation skills
  11. Social skills (online and offline) are important.
  12. Time management and planning skills
  13. Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
  14. Making special efforts to ensure that sales records and management accounting information are regularly reconciled.
  15. Must be teachable, trainable, and generally open to learning regardless of the source of knowledge, while with the same token have the capacity to pass on knowledge to subordinates in a kind manner.
