Job Position: Accounting Officer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing the hospital’s financial records, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial reports to support decision-making.
This role requires high attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work efficiently in a healthcare environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accurate financial records for the hospital.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile bank statements, and monitor cash flow.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor patient billing, verify invoices, and ensure proper revenue recording.
- Liaise with relevant departments to resolve billing discrepancies and financial queries.
- Track expenses and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Assist with payroll processing and statutory deductions (e.g., tax, pension).
- Support external and internal audit processes by preparing necessary documentation.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience, preferably in healthcare or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 Monthly.
