Alkanes Petroleum & Gas Limited is an indigenous Petroleum Marketing Company based in Lagos, Nigeria and operates in the Downstream segment of the Oil & Gas Industry. We intermediate between Petroleum Refineries/Trading Companies and Petroleum Product Users in Sub-Saharan Africa. Alkanes Petroleum & Gas Limited, though incorporated in June 2004, commenced full business operations in 2011.
From Lagos, South-West Nigeria, we have since strategically expanded to Calabar, South-East Nigeria where we have an Ultra-Modern Petroleum Storage Facility licensed by Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). This Petroleum Storage Facility has given us access and opportunities to markets in the South-Eastern, North-Central and North-Eastern regions of Nigeria.
Job Position: Retail Business Development Manager
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos
Job Responsibilities
Retail Business:
- Drive the internal team in the execution of the plan to establish retail filling stations for the company
- Identify suitable stations for lease or outright purchase
- Liaising with regulatory Agencies for relevant documentation for proposed retail outlets.
Business Development:
- Supervision of the activities of the depot sales team to ensure valuable intelligence on product prices and product availability
- Supervise Alkanes operations as it relates to business development
- Work with the COO in researching and identifying new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
- Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
- Think and work strategically – seeing the bigger picture, setting and carrying out aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
Documentation:
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory authorities as it pertains to documentation
- Prepare day/ monthly sales report.
- Reconcile day sales with all relevant parties.
Job Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 4 – 6 years experience in the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of depot sales or marketing of petroleum products would be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Resilient and able to work under pressure and time constraints.
- Must be detail oriented, possessing the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Good time management and planning skills.
- Should have a flair for networking.
- Max Age Limit: 32.
