Job Position: Senior Business Development Manager (Oil and Gas)

Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  2. Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services or new ways of reaching new markets.
  3. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and promote company products and services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
  4. Lead the formulation, execution and monitoring of company’s business development, market penetration strategies and plans for enhancing business growth.
  5. Design strategy and set goals for growth, increase business revenue through business expansion and fostering profitability by building strategic relationship with decision makers in the oil and gas sector and Industrial sector.
  6. Manage client expectations throughout the sales cycle and closing process to ensure quality service delivery.
  7. Identify potential bid submission opportunities, create bid-winning strategies, conduct research, develop and submit technical and commercial bids and proposals, negotiate with stakeholders, lead procurement activities as needed, and collaborate with other team members to ensure successful bid outcomes.
  8. Manage the tendering process – from bidding, attending pre-tender meetings, submissions, and signing contract papers.
  9. Manage the sales process – develop, negotiate, and close out contracts and hand over new jobs to the operations team for execution.
  10. Build and manage a team that will form the core of our business (Engineering, IT and Business Development).
  11. Responsible for understanding the regulation framework, NIPEX, NAPIMS, DPR, NCDMB and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  12. Leverage on knowledge of industry trends and client challenges to develop and deliver compelling value propositions.
  13. Build sales pipeline by developing and driving managing sales activities plans across the year.
  14. Manage corporate relationships and partnerships with clients, contractors, and business partners.
  15. Research and analyze new business opportunities by developing and leveraging on both new and existing relationships.
  16. Monitor company performance against agreed business target.
  17. Ensuring customers satisfaction, exceeding targets, generating income, and providing value for clients.
  18. Accordingly, she/he will have well-developed contacts at senior levels in private sector.
  19. Provide leadership and manages/supervise the Business Development and other assigned teams.
  20. Provide weekly market analysis and presentations to support business development strategic efforts.
  21. Communicate sales and marketing strategy and outcomes to management.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate KPIs and performance for the BD team
  2. Formulate career development plans within the department
  3. Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for general business growth.
  4. Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the Business Development department.

Job Requirements

  • A University Degree in Engineering / Business Administration or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as Business Development Professional in an oil and gas servicing, IT or related industry. Current position must be managerial role within the Business Development Department/Division.
  • Experience and relationships with NAPIMS, DPR, NIPEX, and NCDMB will be a strong advantage.
  • Proven Business and Sales Development experience in the Oil, Gas & Industrial and/or IT sector.
  • Good Negotiation and Networking skill.
  • Strong managerial, analytics and commercial skills.
  • Excellent communication and influential skills.
  • Excellent Presentation skills.
  • Great organizational and team player skills.
  • Good people management and coordination skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in the Bidding and Tendering Process.
  • Must be able to package both Technical and Commercial Bids.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Salary
N300,000.00 – N450,000.00 / month.
