Job Description

  1. A Business Developer in a micro-lending company plays a vital role in driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities for lending services.
  2. This position involves developing strategic partnerships, expanding the customer base, and contributing to the overall success and profitability of the company’s lending operations.

Job Responsibilities
Market Research and Analysis:

  1. Conduct market research to identify potential target segments for short-term personal and SME finance.
  2. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

Business Strategy Development:

  1. Develop and implement business development strategies to drive the growth of the lending portfolio.
  2. Identify new business opportunities and areas for expansion.

Partnership Building:

  1. Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including business partners, financial institutions, and industry associations.
  2. Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships to enhance the company’s lending capabilities.

Customer Acquisition:

  1. Develop and execute strategies to attract and acquire new customers, including salaried individuals, self-employed personnel, and small businesses.
  2. Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective customer acquisition campaigns.

Product Development:

  1. Work closely with product development teams to tailor lending products to the needs of target customers.
  2. Introduce innovative lending solutions to address market demands.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  1. Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue generation through effective business development efforts.
  2. Explore cross-selling opportunities to maximize customer value.


  1. Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build the company’s presence in the micro-lending sector.
  2. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role in the financial or micro-lending industry.
  3. Knowledge of micro-lending operations, short-term finance, and SME lending.
  4. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the micro-lending industry.
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills.
  6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  7. Results-oriented with a track record of achieving sales and business development targets.
  8. Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools.

Job Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in business development or sales in the financial or micro-lending sector.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
  • Experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Comprehensive understanding of micro-lending operations, short-term finance, and SME lending.
  2. Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and market trends in the micro-lending industry.
