Job Description

  1. We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Data Analyst to join our esteemed organization.
  2. This is a new role that will strengthen our Data practice and expand our capabilities in the field.
  3. The qualified candidate will play a crucial role in leading and executing large-scale development of data-oriented systems with precision and efficiency to meet our needs.
  4. They will be responsible for supporting our clients in utilizing big data to gain business intelligence and insights into customer experiences and behaviour in a well-organized and secure manner.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead and execute the development of data-oriented systems to meet client’s needs.
  2. Support clients in leveraging big data to gain business intelligence and insights into customer experiences and behaviour.
  3. Conduct data analysis, data profiling, and data validation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  4. Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines and workflows.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  6. Utilize advanced SQL skills to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
  7. Work with cloud Data Warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure, etc.
  8. Implement data ingestion tools like Fivetran, Stitch, or Matillion to automate data integration processes.
  9. Build and deploy machine learning models in production environments.
  10. Perform basic/intermediate data engineering tasks to preprocess and transform raw data.
  11. Utilize scripting languages like Bash for automation and data manipulation.
  12. Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to ensure efficient project management and delivery.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  2. Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in data management, data analysis, or other data administration functions, including data collection and distribution.
  3. In-depth understanding of database design, systems, and database technology.
  4. Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design.
  5. Experience working with cloud Data Warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure, etc.).
  6. Working knowledge of data ingestion tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, or Matillion.
  7. Strong proficiency in object-oriented languages like Python, Java, C++, Scala.
  8. Strong proficiency in scripting languages like Bash.
  9. Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow, Azkaban.
  10. Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  11. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  12. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  13. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Working knowledge of the Nigeria and Pan-African market trends in Data practices.
