Job Summary

Provide support for the implementation of DIL’s Transport policies and processes by participating in planning/ coordinating the movement of cement products and/ or materials between the Plant and approved areas.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage vehicular traffic, including loading activities (off-loading and on-loading) at the Plant to ensure overall orderliness and efficiency of depot operations.
  2. Ensure appropriate storage of incoming materials at the designated facilities in the Plant.
  3. Coordinate loading of products onto allocated trucks for dispatch to approved locations outside the Plant.
  4. Ensure that all plant logistics activities comply with DIL’s Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
  5. Coordinate efficient and timely loading of customers’ trucks with purchased products on a FIFO basis.
  6. Develop and submit reports of logistics activities at the Plant and provide recommendations where necessary.
  7. To ensure the recovery of AGO for short kilometres.
  8. To ensure all accident and related documents are collected on time.
  9. To ensure all vehicles are coming with raw materials from the designated location whenever there’s the feasibility of collecting raw materials.
  10. To ensure timely allocation of vehicles for collecting spares and other items required by the plant or other departments. Liaising with Transporters, acquiring information on: Arrival of Trucks, Truck Breakdowns, and any other Emergency Occurrences
  11. Perform any other duties assigned by your HOD & senior.

Requirements

Education & Work Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in business, Transport & logistics, or any other related field
  2. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Transport management

Skills & Behaviour:

  1. Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
  2. Sound knowledge of DIL’s product and service offerings.
  3. Working knowledge of inventory management terminologies, methodologies and approach
  4. Basic knowledge of system-based inventory management systems
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Attention to detail and quality
  8. Willingness to learn, improve and adapt to changing requirements
  9. Basic knowledge of relevant supporting tools and technologies, such as MS Excel, Project Management applications, etc.
