Job Position: Production Supervisor

Job Location: Gbagada, Lagos

Job Description

1. Manage a team of Powder Coaters, responsible for the complete powder coating process. Estimate material requirements, assign tasks, evaluate work progress, ensure that safety guidelines are respected, recommend corrective actions, and train staff.

Job Responsibilities

1. Supervising production line (powder coating section) in accordance with plant policies and procedure.
2. Responsible for shift schedule, workstation assignments/rotations, staff annual leaves, overtime.
3. Schedule and conduct section meetings.
4. Responsible for preparation of parts for coating.
5. Ensure all principles and practices of powder coating application.
6. Observe all coating equipment including electrostatics guns, machine gauges to detect defects.
7. Ensure baking at appropriate temperatures within limited time.
8. Ensure that all canopy parts produced are well coated and production activities consistent with company established goals for quality and customers specifications.
9. Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility.
10. Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.
11. Ensure basic knowledge of the mechanics and repair of coating equipment.
12. Responsible for proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment and machines.
13. Responsible for receiving complete parts for effective processes flow.
14. Responsible to meet production goals and targets.
15. Responsible for materials collection on weekly basis.
16. Ensure all workers are well coordinated.
17. Escalate all issues with production to the production manager.
18. Take up IMS responsibilities such as reporting unsafe act, condition or procedure in the workplace, participating in fire or emergency drill at work, participating in incident reporting and investigation when necessary and adherence to Company policies

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Ddegree or its equivalent in relevant courses.
• 5-7 years of proven work experience in powder coating. Strong exposure to Industrial/Manufacturing environment.

Competencies:

1. Demonstrating good ability to spray powder to the correct thickness range
2. Knowledge of powder painting, maintenance of powder coat equipment, and how to read blueprints and drawings
3. Knowledge of the mechanics and repair of coating equipment
4. Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments.
5. Excellent coordination and communication skills
6. Excellent time management skills
7. Strong attention to details
8. Excellent planning and organizing skills
9. Able to inspire, motivate and lead a team of people
10. Highly enthusiastic
11. Able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
12. Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
13. Strong reporting skills.
