Job Position: Portfolio Sales Manager 
Location: Abuja, Lagos

Job Overview

We are seeking a Portfolio Sales Manager based in Abuja to drive our sales growth in the region. This mid-level role is responsible for engaging with travel agencies and key partners to increase ticket sales and market share. The ideal candidate is a local expert with a global perspective – able to build strong relationships with local travel trade partners while executing strategies that reflect international best practices. You will be at the forefront of expanding Royal Air Maroc’s presence in the Abuja market, working to forge partnerships, boost revenue, and enhance our brand visibility.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Partner Relationship Management: Research and identify prospective travel agency partners, evaluate their potential, and cultivate strong, long-term relationships. Serve as the primary liaison between Royal Air Maroc and travel agencies in the Abuja region, ensuring mutual success and growth.
  2. Strategic Sales Execution: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow Royal Air Maroc’s market share in Abuja and meet or exceed revenue targets. Actively promote the airline’s products and services to agency partners to drive ticket sales and ensure our offerings remain top-of-mind.
  3. Market Analysis & Growth: Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities, emerging customer needs, and areas for improvement. Monitor competitor activities and provide regular market intelligence reports to the management team, highlighting threats and opportunities in the Abuja travel market.
  4. Training and Support: Deliver training and ongoing support to travel agency staff on Royal Air Maroc’s products, booking platforms, and policies, ensuring they have up-to-date knowledge and comply with our standards. Assist agencies in resolving issues and provide excellent customer service support to maintain high agent engagement.
  5. Business Development: Develop effective proposals and negotiate partnership agreements for key corporate accounts or new travel agency partners, securing long-term business for Royal Air Maroc. Work closely with the marketing team to design promotions or incentive programs that motivate trade partners to prominently sell our flights.
  6. Networking & Representation: Attend industry events, trade shows, and relevant forums in Abuja and the wider region to represent Royal Air Maroc. Increase awareness of Royal Air Maroc among the travel trade and public, and build a strong network of contacts in the aviation and tourism industry to bolster our market position.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism, Aviation, or a related field.

A professional certification in aviation sales/management (e.g., IATA certification) is highly preferred.

  •  Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or account management within the airline or travel industry, with a focus on managing travel agency or B2B partnerships.

Prior exposure to an international or multi-cultural business environment is an added advantage.

  • Industry Knowledge

In-depth understanding of airline ticketing, global distribution systems (GDS), and agency distribution channels, as well as local travel market dynamics.

Familiarity with the Abuja/Nigeria travel agency market and consumer travel trends is highly desirable.

  • Skills

Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

  • Technical Proficiency

Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM tools for sales tracking and reporting. Ability to analyse data to generate actionable insights and adapt sales strategies.

  • Work Style

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including willingness to travel within the region as required, and capacity to meet tight deadlines and sales targets.

A proactive, results-driven mindset with excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Language

Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Proficiency in local languages such as Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba, and/or French, is a strong advantage for communicating with a diverse client base.

Other Requirements

Must have legal authorisation to work in Nigeria (completion of the NYSC program for Nigerian candidates is required). A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally for client visits are compulsory.
