Job Position: Senior Backend Engineer
Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant microservices
  2. Build robust API endpoints to support our lending products
  3. Optimise database performance, indexes, and query efficiency
  4. Establish technical standards and ensure code quality
  5. Mentor junior developers and conduct comprehensive code reviews
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements
  7. Integrate third-party services and manage dependencies
  8. Develop monitoring and alert systems for backend services
  9. Ensure the security of the backend infrastructure
  10. Write unit and integration tests to maintain codebase quality
  11. Analyse and improve system architecture
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues
  13. Contribute to the development of engineering best practices.

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of experience in backend development
  2. Strong knowledge of Python, Django, or Node.js
  3. Experience with microservices architecture
  4. Solid understanding of database design and optimisation
  5. Experience with financial systems is a plus.
