Job Description
- We are seeking a site engineer in Agbara, Ogun state. The role holder will work under the direction of the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all facilities within the Mega Distribution Centre, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affects the warehouse ability to operate.
- Additionally, the Site Engineer will assess and daily consider daily the safety of our employees, the security of our assets and asset care, and the service to our facility occupants.
- Besides, This position will coordinate Third- Party (3P) contractors or vendors for various services.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary contact for all warehouse personnel for any building issues (workspace, cleaning, plumbing, roofing, leakages, damage, Air conditioning, emergencies, and repairs).
- Monitors contractor performance on SLAs and works closely with 3P vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications on Maintenance of Racks, Pumps, Fire Protection systems, Switch rooms, Roller Shutter doors, Dock Levellers, Custodial and grounds services.
- Documents and files all facility maintenance activities, ensures 100% ATP Adherence to Maintenance Plan, and drives Excellence in Asset Care delivery according to WCM best practice as cascaded by the Operations Manager.
- Coordinates pest management, waste segregation and waste disposal on site.
- May act as the project coordinator for all site projects including large-scale repair and new facility construction projects.
- Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies daily.
- Assists the Operations Manager in preparing the annual maintenance Budget/plan and Ensures Compliance with budget.
- Maintains documentation and liaison with Clients.
- Solicits bids and quotes from vendors and monitors, in all assigned tasks.
- Supervises minor plumbing repairs, pool vehicle, and general facilities maintenance with a clear maintenance plan tracked regularly.
- Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves and space allocation.
- Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required.
- Dismantles and installs furniture.
- Transports goods or equipment as assigned.
- Ensures high performance of cleaning duties necessary to maintain a clean facility indoors and outdoors.
- Takes on the spare store and inventory management at high standards.
- Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing MHE spares. This includes coordinating-controlled spares movement (Material Handling Equipment (MHEs) and Racks).
Job Requirements
Required:
- HND / BSc in a related engineering field.
- At least 3 years of experience in engineering and facility maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
- Proficiency in data analytics, Power BI, and the MS Office package.
- Practical hands-on engineering experience, with a focus on leading maintenance teams and delivering world-class asset care.
Preferred:
- Experience in logistics or a similar field.
- Facility Management Certification or training in reliability maintenance.
- Knowledge of business acumen, including finance for non-finance managers.
