Job Position: SME Team Lead (Banking)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid)
Position Description
The SME Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Sales Executives, Associates, and DSAs to sell assigned financial products and achieve set targets.
The role involves coaching, supervising, and motivating the team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales, service, and productivity goals.
The Team Lead will also ensure the achievement of personal targets and the timely execution of tasks as assigned by direct supervisors or management.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing team of SME Sales Agents to meet team targets
- Drive sales of the bank’s SME loan products by identifying key opportunities
- Monitor and ensure the achievement of team sales targets
- Continuously review and monitor loan portfolios to minimise risk
- Develop and execute sales and growth strategies to expand market reach
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients
- Evaluate creditworthiness by processing loan applications and documentation
- Analyse financial ratios and metrics; establish debt repayment plans
- Justify credit decisions (approvals/rejections) and provide periodic reports
- Stay updated on loan products and financial service offerings
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records
- Assess customer needs and explore cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
- Build referral networks and stay current with industry trends
- Recommend alternative channels and promote additional products to meet sales quotas
Requirements
Education:
- First Degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in financial sales, particularly within the microfinance banking sector.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong credit evaluation and risk assessment techniques.
- Sound knowledge of loan types and other financial services.
- Proven experience in building and managing large loan portfolios.
- Solid understanding of microfinance banking operations.
- Ability to develop and implement sales strategies for SME financial products.
- Target-driven and results-oriented mindset.
- High adaptability and learning agility.
- Strong customer-centric approach.
- Strategic and critical thinking skills.
Salary
N450,000 – N500,000 / Month.
